BLACK RAINBOW - JULIJA HARTIG
Black Rainbow is a collaboration between violinist and vocalist Julija Hartig, pianist Reineke Broekhans, and electronics wizard and composer Akim Moiseenkov. Julija has been working with Reineke for twenty-five years. Each production has a theme, and here Julija dives into her past and family heritage, which she calls her "ancestral code." This journey yielded insights that were translated into the musical selection for this album. These include works by Janáček, Enescu, and Fazil Say, as well as compositions they created together with Akim Moiseenkov. The chosen music effectively represents her cultural and musical DNA.
The track Black Rainbow was nominated for the Night of the Violin in 2025 by the Violin Competitions Foundation (Netherlands Violin Competition) and is also a world premiere recording. Julija performed this composition during the Night of the Violin (Tivoli Vredenburg and Park 6, January 31, 2025). This CD deserves all the praise for its fascinating and exceptionally well-chosen music. Furthermore, for the performance itself, with a special mention for the sound quality. It is rare to hear a grand piano and violin in such sublime recording quality with such an impressive sound. Julija plays on a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. One of the top productions right at the start of 2026.

Black Rainbow is een samenwerking tussen violiste en zangeres Julija Hartig, pianiste Reineke Broekhans en elektronica wizard en componist Akim Moiseenkov. Julija werkt al vijfentwintig jaar samen met Reineke. Elke productie heeft een thema en hier duikt Julija in haar verleden en familie-erfenis. Ze noemt dat haar 'ancestral code'. Die reis leverde inzichten op die vertaald werden in een muzikale keuze voor dit album. Dat zijn werken van Janáček, Enescu en Fazil Say, maar ook composities die zij samen hebben gemaakt met Akim Moiseenkov. Die gekozen muziek representeert feitelijk haar culturele en muzikale DNA. Vervolgens voor de uitvoering en met een bijzondere vermelding voor de geluidskwaliteit. Je hoort niet zo vaak een vleugel en viool in zo'n sublieme opnamekwaliteit met zo'n indrukwekkende klank. Julija speelt op een Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. Een van de top producties meteen al aan het begin van 2026.
