This CD, Black Rainbow, is the sound of my Belonging to cultures through my heritage and the feeling of home through music. Each of these pieces is a reflection of the cultures I carry within myself, either through my ancestral DNA—Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Austrian —or by being born into them—Yugoslavia, the Balkans.

After the undeniable success of my debut CD - Dark Velvet - an Autobiography in Music, which was awarded the EDISON Klassiek prize in 2023, it is certainly time for a new chapter in my creative path.

The mixed identities that form my Ancestral Code - an issue in the form of a question ‘Where do we belong?’, deeply rooted and specific to the region covering central Europe and the Balkans, motivated me to step out of my comfort zone as a violinist and create a composition, together with Akim Moiseenkov, Black Rainbow featuring the voice recording of my great-great-great grandmother and my mother as a multi-dimensional experience which I prefer to call Story in Sound.

Next to it, I wanted to include music that resonates in me and that I recognise as mine by the heritage of composers Leoš Janáček, George Enescu and Fazil Say.
